All teachers....even those who never believe they will ever stop creating eventually need to retire.  I wish to thank every one of my students from all over the world who, over the years, have inspired me to be even better through their never-ending praise.

Many of you have written back to tell me that I have taken you to places and levels that you never imagined.  Well, I am here to thank you for doing the same for me.

Though I am no longer teaching....I will continue to paint and experiment with various forms of art and will always be there for you should you have questions.

A still life class is still the best place to learn the basics of mastering pastel.  Through the process of painting various textures within a still life, you will gain a good understanding of how to manipulate this wonderful medium enabling you to move on to any subject you desire.   
Learn how to paint what you see... not what you think you see and how to pick and choose what to include and what to omit.

A close up view of what those of us in British Columbia take for granted; the foliage, ferns and fungi that make up a world of their own often go unnoticed in our tramps through the woods.  October one of the best months for capturing these endlessly diverse forms of fungi popping up through the brilliance of fallen leaves and shiny wet foliage.  All you need is a beam of sunlight in the right place and there is a painting-in-the-making.This will be a small painting study for the demo and there should be plenty of time to produce masterpieces of your own choosing

You need not be a member to of the FCA to attend but there may be as small fee for non-members.
