Is a pastel a painting or a drawing?
A pastel is generally considered a painting if it covers the majority of the surface of the paper. It may be referred to as a drawing if it is completed in a vignette style. Is a demo painting an original and can you sell it? Dianna's demo paintings are most certainly original pieces of art. Some may however, not be a unique piece of art.
Many of Dianna's students follow along with her demo painting working on the same image. This means there may be eight or more similar pieces out there in the art world, each one an original of their respective owners, but not necessarily entirely the work of their owners, depending upon how much assistance they needed to accomplish their goal of learning to master the medium. If you see a piece out there that seems similar to mine, there may not be any copyright infringements, simply happy students following in their instructor's footsteps. As for selling them, yes, I most definitely do. |
