What exactly is a “Giclée”?
These new ink jet art prints or giclées are an exciting and flexible way to combining custom printing to exacting standards with your personal requirements. The scanning process used to capture the image is so great that over-sized prints retain all of the information found in the original artwork. 200-year Archival fade-resistant pigmented inks are used in the printing process. The most common surfaces used are canvas or watercolour paper. Canvas prints can be mounted on stretcher bars of various thicknesses, ½ inch bars being suitable for hanging framed or deeper bars with printed or coloured edges for hanging unframed. What is an off-set print? Off-set printing is done on a large commercial press and an entire addition is run in one printing. There can be no custom choices with off-set prints, unless it is done at the time of the initial printing. |
